GRACE It is understood by most to be a spontaneous gift from God to people "generous, free and totally unexpected and undeserved"[– that takes the form of divine favor, love, clemency, and mercy. SIMPLY PUT: THE UNMERITED FAVOR OF GOD TO HIS PEOPLE. In the Old Testament, grace almost always means FAVOR in the New Testament, it can mean acceptance, benefit, favor, gift, pleasure, mercy, love, and clemency). Gen_6:8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD. Rom_3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Rom_5:2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Rom_5:17 For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.) Rom_5:20 Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: Rom_5:21 That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord. Rom_6:1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? Rom_6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. Rom_6:15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. Rom_11:5 Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace. Rom_11:6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work. Rom_12:3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. Rom_12:6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; Rom_15:15 Nevertheless, brethren, I have written the more boldly unto you in some sort, as putting you in mind, because of the grace that is given to me of God, 1Co_1:4 I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ; 1Co_3:10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. 1Co_15:10 But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me. 2Co_4:15 For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God. 2Co_6:1 We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain. 2Co_8:6 Insomuch that we desired Titus, that as he had begun, so he would also finish in you the same grace also. 2Co_8:7 Therefore, as ye abound in every thing, in faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your love to us, see that ye abound in this grace also. 2Co_8:9 For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich. 2Co_9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work: 2Co_9:14 And by their prayer for you, which long after you for the exceeding grace of God in you. 2Co_12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 2Co_13:14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen. The second epistle to the Corinthians was written from Philippi, a city of Macedonia, by Titus and Lucas. Gal_1:6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Gal_1:15 But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace, Gal_2:21 I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain. Eph_2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: |
